We've carefully selected skincare products that we feel are essential and well performing parts of a well rounded skincare routine. Here's our recommended regimen:
1. Start with a clean face. While you don't necessarily need to clean your face every day, if you've been wearing makeup, sweating or working outside it's best to start with oil cleansing. Apply your oil cleanser of choice generously, allow to sit five minutes, and gently wipe off with a washcloth and warm water.
Oil cleansing keeps your skin from being stripped from all of its precious natural oils, while lifting dirt out of pores and dissolving other oils more effectively than water does.
2. Add a spritz of toner. Enjoy the benefits of herbal hydrosols and prep your face for tallow by gently misting your face with your hydrosol of choice.
3. Support specific skin conditions with serums. We offer specialized serums to give your skin the nutrients and care it needs. Massage a few drops between your hands and apply where needed. You can also mix them into your tallow or cleansers.
4. Moisturize with tallow. Tallow is the ultimate moisturizer, absorbing quickly and locking in hydration and nutrients. It applies best to wet skin, such as after a shower or following a spritz of toner.
Balms and oils don't absorb the same way a lotion (which is about 70% water) would. When it comes to applying tallow salves and whips, only use about a quarter the amount of cream or lotion you would normally use. If you feel greasy, you've used too much. The tallow should absorb completely.
5. Exfoliate when needed. When you feel you need it, it's good practice to gently exfoliate to remove dead skin cells, approximately 1-3 times a week. You can do this before, immediately after, or in place of oil cleansing.
6. Boost your hydration. In the morning, you might desire a bit more moisturizer. For dry skin, try a dab of tallow. For more oily skin types, you might find a few drops of serum are all you need, it also helps prep your face so makeup goes on more smoothly.
